Your journey begins early in the morning in Marrakech. First, we drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, you will enjoy panoramic views and photo stops.
Next, we visit Ait Ben Haddou, a famous UNESCO-listed kasbah. It is known for its clay buildings and movie history. After that, we continue to Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert.
Later, the road leads us into the beautiful Draa Valley. Here, thousands of palm trees stretch along the river. Small villages appear one after another, giving you a true sense of local life.
By evening, we reach Zagora, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night in a charming hotel or riad.
After breakfast, the adventure continues deeper south. First, we stop in Tamegroute, a spiritual village known for its ancient Quranic library. You will also visit traditional green pottery workshops, which are still handmade today.
Then, we pass through Tagounite, a calm village surrounded by palm groves. Soon after, we arrive at M’Hamid El Ghizlane, the last village where paved roads end.
Here, the real desert begins.
You will meet nomads, share mint tea, and visit a sacred oasis hidden in the sand. Afterward, we drive off-road across dunes and dry plains until we reach our Erg Chigaga luxury camp.
In the late afternoon, you enjoy a camel ride at sunset. As the sky changes colors, the dunes glow softly. Later, a traditional dinner is served under the stars. Music, a fireplace, and a peaceful atmosphere make the night unforgettable.
Finally, you sleep in a private luxury tent, surrounded by silence and stars.
Early risers can watch the sunrise over the dunes. It is calm, golden, and truly special. After breakfast at the camp, we begin the return journey.
First, we cross the vast dry bed of Lake Iriki, once filled with water and now a dramatic desert landscape. Then, we reach Foum Zguid, a small town marking the edge of the Sahara.
Later, we pass through Taznakht, famous as the carpet capital of Morocco. You can learn about Berber rugs and local weaving traditions.
By evening, we arrive back in Marrakech, full of memories and stories from the desert.
